Ecuador - the morning after

I would say that Tom had a dreadful hangover on Sunday morning, but the truth is that he was very tired and still quite drunk. I think the hangover started about mid afternoon.
The plan was that everyone who had stayed over at the hacienda would meet at El Cafe de la Vaca restaurant in Cayambe for a late breakfast/brunch. It was Lucy's Uncle Pablo's birthday, it was also Father's Day and Ecuador were playing their opening game in the World Cup.
Tom was left to languish in bed while we went to eat. Upon the recommendation of Lucy's cousins, I went for the steak breakfast (a good choice) and a blackcurrant and coconut smoothie (a really good choice). The food was terrific, sadly Ecuador's football team suffered the same fate as England the day before - a 2-1 defeat. Neither team would make it beyond the group stage.
We were finally able to rouse Tom and all drove back to Lucy's mum's house in Quito. The next day, we were to set off on our mini-tour of Ecuador and I was looking forward to it.
